Thankful Thursday – September 13th
I’ve lived to see another Thankful Thursday, I am glad to say.
Today, I am thankful to be alive. I am thankful to be in high spirits even though I am still recovering from a cold. I am thankful to have a hilarious memory related to a cold I had when I was in high school. (It involves me spitting out a window in a moving bus on a sports trip, said spit landed on someone else, gagging and vomiting of 10 or so other people ensued while I laughed uproariously. I’m telling you folks, I am likely insane, though you’d never be able to certify this. :D)
I am thankful to have a house to live in. The home of an acquaintance burned down this week, and I am so very glad that I still have a house. It really drives home the importance of those things we normally take for granted.
I am thankful for the support of complete strangers who have been contributing to my crowdfunding project to complete an album.
I am thankful that the random person who spoke to me this morning while I was pumping gas and said, “Excuse me, where do you work? You look so familiar!” was not a dangerous person. I am thankful that I did not have to spray said person with the mace on my keychain or gas from the gas pump (because, that was the plan that ran through my head when I considered whether or not this person was dangerous).
I am thankful to have an excellent garden, and thankful for the knowledge and skill it takes to grow massive and delicious food for my family members.
I am thankful to have plenty of clean water to drink and clean air to breathe.
I am thankful to have a full head of hair and to not be afflicted by cancer.
I am thankful I have learned to knit and feel very inspired to make things with this very useful skill.
I am thankful for having beautiful music from past eras at my disposal for free. I really do enjoy listening to wonderful old music.
I am thankful for walking outside and feeling the wind against my skin and the ground beneath my feet and hearing the calls of nearby birds of prey while savoring home-cooked food and looking at the beauty of the world around me.
I am thankful for you, my friend, who takes the time to read these posts. I appreciate that you take the time out of your day to think about what I have to say.
See you soon, and much love from me to you!
