Thankful Thursday – Sept 20th.
So today is one of those days where so many tiny and ridiculous things go wrong that it starts to be humorous.
In the old days, I would probably have gotten angry and got stuck in some bad mood where I think and complain about all the petty, unimportant stuff that I feel unhappy about, which are enhanced and compounded by annoyingly imperfect days.
Happily, it’s the new days! So, I will cheerfully list the things I feel grateful for today. 🙂
1) I forgot a number of rather important things in my rush to get out the door to the gym, and then as I hurried from the gym to work this morning. I am thankful that I have always had a knack for being resourceful and being able to solve problems using the tools I have on hand. Long story short: I now smell quite strongly of peppermint oil and am wearing sneakers with my work clothes. 😀
2) My hair refuses to cooperate. It is fluffy and sticking up all over. I used some bobby pins to mold it into some semblance of style so that it looks like I intended it to be fluffy and sticking up all over. I am thankful that I had bobby pins. 🙂
3) When I was running this morning, I accidentally hit the “stop” button on the treadmill right before I was done and lost the progress I was having. To get back at the treadmill for the time I lost resetting it, I ran an extra 1/4 mile at a faster pace than I’ve ever done before. I didn’t even get winded. BAM. I’m thankful that my endurance is increasing and that I have gotten my breathing rhythm under control.
4) If you follow me on any social media sites, I’m sure you’ve noticed my occasional hawking of my kickstarter campaign. Well, after a few days of absolutely no interest, two people contributed over $10 each! I’m only raising $250, so that’s quite helpful to me. I am thankful, again, for the kindness of strangers. By the way, the link is: http://kck.st/PMjSQt. Check it out.  😀
5) I am thankful to have teeth to eat my apple with. It is a tasty apple.
6) I am thankful for mint tea. I am also thankful that I have spearmint that grows naturally at my house, so can have mint tea whenever I want to! YES!
7) Thankful that I now feel quite joyful. Joy is always something to be thankful for.
Be thankful, my friend, and thanks for reading!
