Thankful Thursday, Dec 20th
1) That I am uninjured after some extremely bad driver rear-ended me while I was making a left-hand turn during yesterday’s snowstorm, even though s/he had already stopped well behind me before I initiated the turn. Said poor driver then proceeded to move from left to right lanes and make a right-hand turn in the opposite direction since I had to execute my turn after the collision. That’s the third time in the past 8 (of 12 total) years that my car has been dinged by a hit-and-run, but ol’ Sparky is still going strong, even though he does look a little sad and now has a swatch of green paint on his bumper. My car is awesome.
2) That the world is here. Yeah, the world isn’t supposed to end until tomorrow. But, guess what? It’s already Dec 21st in some other countries. The world has, indeed, survived. So far.
3) That I have my health, a job, food, clothing, and shelter, and can realize that I am extremely fortunate to have these things.
4) That it snowed yesterday. I love snow.
5) That it’s nearly Christmas. I love Christmas.
6) That I can speak up for those who cannot or are afraid to speak up for themselves.
7) That I am growing as a person and have learned a lot about myself and my place in the world since the beginning of this year.
8) That I decided I was ready for a “year of no fear”. Because, now I’m ready for a life of no fear.
With a smile on my lips and love in my heart,
– Jane
